Patlabor EZY "RG 1/48 AV-98Plus Ingram Kai" Features a Precise Movable Inner Frame, Recreating Abundant Weaponry and Mechanisms!

The high-precision assembly model series "RG (REAL GRADE)," developed by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has officially announced the latest product from the animated film "Patlabor EZY," the "RG 1/48 AV-98Plus Ingram Kai," slated for release in June 2026.

"Patlabor EZY" continues the series' timeline, set in Japan during the 2030s, where the labor force is increasingly dwindling. Multi-legged walking large machines (Labors), once considered cutting-edge technology, have now become an integral part of supporting the social infrastructure. However, with the continuous development of AI and automation technology, Labors requiring human operation are gradually being replaced by autonomous robots, becoming obsolete. Despite the changing times, the Special Vehicles Section 2 of the Metropolitan Police Department's Security Division continues its mission to protect people and cities. The second squad, to which protagonist Towa Kuga belongs, along with the "AV-98Plus Ingram," an improved version of an older model, collectively use their wisdom and courage to combat ever-evolving technological crimes.

The "AV-98Plus Ingram," the Labor utilized by Special Vehicles Section 2's second squad in the 2030s and piloted by protagonist Towa Kuga, is a comprehensively improved version based on the "Type 98 AV Ingram" manufactured in 1998. Both its control system software and mechanical hardware performance have been significantly enhanced. Furthermore, the pilot's head-mounted display employs AR (Augmented Reality) head-up display technology, allowing necessary information to be confirmed without diverting their gaze during operation.

The "RG 1/48 AV-98Plus Ingram Kai" is produced using Bandai's latest color separation and part division technology. Under the RG specification, which boasts precise sculpting, it faithfully recreates the cool design and various weapon mechanisms from the show. Silver parts utilize "realistic metallic gloss injection molding" technology to deliver a more authentic metallic texture. Transparent parts and precisely molded parts are used to reproduce details such as the shoulder warning lights and chest police emblem. Additionally, stickers for recreating the unit's markings are included.

Like most other RG series products, the Ingram Kai also features a complete internal movable inner frame, faithfully reproducing the wrinkled textures created by the sealed coverings at the joints. In addition to its flexible articulation, various mechanisms from the original design are recreated throughout the body, including the deployable searchlights on both sides of the chest, the baton storage mechanism in the shield, the revolver storage mechanism in the calf armor, the telescoping mechanism for drawing the gun from the hand, and the ammunition storage and deployment mechanism in the inner leg armor. Even the cockpit in the chest features deployment and lifting functions, and a miniature pilot figure that can be placed inside is included.
