BANDAI SPIRITS' Hobby Division is set to release the latest addition to their "Figure-rise Standard Amplified" series, which enhances character dynamism through plastic model kits. Coming from the anime "Digimon Frontier," the new "MagnaGarurumon" is slated for an August 2026 release, with a revised date now set for September 19, 2026.
In "Digimon Frontier," MagnaGarurumon is the ultimate evolution of Koji Minamoto, one of the main protagonists. Empowered by Ophanimon, Koji utilizes the Spirits of Light, Thunder, Darkness, Steel, and Water to achieve this form. MagnaGarurumon is a Transcendent Digimon imbued with the power of light. Equipped with flight units, it can achieve sub-light speed flight and execute high-altitude attacks by locking onto targets with its right arm's "Sniper Phantom," left arm's "Strike Phantom," and chest-mounted "Laser Sight."
The "Figure-rise Standard Amplified MagnaGarurumon" features an amplified design that deviates slightly from the original anime settings, enhancing its plastic model kit playability. Illustrator As'Maria has reinterpreted the original design into a sleek, powerful form. The kit utilizes multi-color molded parts and PET sheets with vibrant printed patterns, showcasing intricate mechanical details across its body and boasting highly flexible articulation.
The upper body can be reconfigured using interchangeable parts to display it with or without its flight units, Sniper Phantom, and Strike Phantom. The Sniper Phantom can also be equipped with an auxiliary grip part, allowing for a dynamic pose where it's detached and wielded over the shoulder.
What's more, this kit can combine with the separately sold "KaiserGreymon" using dedicated parts to recreate the mighty combined form of "Susanoomon." The remaining parts from the combination can then be assembled into Susanoomon's special attack weapon, the "Zero-Arms: Orochi," which even includes a light sword effect part firing from its muzzle!
