TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced that a new original equipment linked to "Gundam Barbatos (4th Form) + Boomerang Mace" from the popular alloy toy "METAL BUILD" series is currently under development, with the release date yet to be determined.

The "Gundam Barbatos (4th Form) + Boomerang Mace", scheduled for release in June this year, features development drawings re-illustrated and thoroughly supervised by Naohiro Washio, the original mechanical designer. It integrates the METAL BUILD series' style, giving Gundam Barbatos a higher density of detailed sculpting. The "Gundam Frame," made of alloy parts, provides a substantial metallic texture. Most notably, it includes newly designed armaments such as a "cape" and "boomerang mace" by Naohiro Washio and anime director Tatsuyuki Nagai.

This time, a new original large armament, not included in the product, has also been teased. The armament's design has already been revealed in a preview video for an update to the collaborative arcade game "Mobile Suit Gundam EXTREME VS. 2 INFINITE BOOST." The armament features three large thrusters suspended behind Gundam Barbatos's waist via a large support frame, large cannon barrels on both sides resembling smoothbore cannons, and shields protecting the magazines and thrusters.
