The highly anticipated seventh installment of the "Scream" franchise, set to hit theaters next week, has just dropped the exclusive music video for its first theme song, "Twisting the Knife." The track features a collaboration between metal band Ice Nine Kills and new cast member Mckenna Grace. Grace, who is also a singer, is widely considered a prime suspect for the true identity of Ghostface in this installment.

Uniquely, this music video is the first part of a three-segment MV and short film series. The second segment is a standalone short film depicting "fake" behind-the-scenes footage of the MV's production. The third segment has yet to be released, with only a tease provided at the end of the second. David Arquette, whose character Sheriff Dewey met his demise in "Scream" (2022), also makes an appearance in this MV series, portraying the director of the music video. After wrapping up the MV shoot, Arquette's character finds himself targeted by the real Ghostface, who is hunting down the entire film crew.
In addition to the lead single "Twisting the Knife," Ice Nine Kills' "Scream VII" single album also includes last year's releases "The Laugh Track" and "The Great Unknown," as well as "A Work of Art," featuring System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian. All four tracks were collectively released yesterday across major streaming platforms (see the playlist in the links above).
