Issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the 'S.H.MonsterArts' series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, has announced the commercialization of the "EVANGELION Unit-01 G-Awakening Form" from the 'Godzilla vs. Evangelion' collaboration project. Release date is yet to be determined.
The dream collaboration project 'Godzilla vs. Evangelion', realized with Hideaki Anno's direction of 'Shin Godzilla' as the catalyst, officially launched in 2016. It has since released numerous popular products featuring Godzilla and EVA appearing together. Among these, the pachinko machine 'P Godzilla vs. Evangelion ~G-Cell Awakening~' even boasts a brand new story that merges the two worlds, as well as a mutated form of Unit-01 whose body was invaded by G-cells after being attacked by Godzilla's atomic breath.
The prototype of "S.H.MonsterArts EVANGELION Unit-01 G-Awakening Form" is currently on display at the 'GRAND HEROES CROSSOVER FES' event venue. Its overall design faithfully recreates the largely 'Godzilla-fied' body, depicting a ferocious face, rough black skin, and large, bright green dorsal fins. While featuring complex sculpting, it also incorporates a wealth of articulated joints, integrating the long-cultivated articulation technology from both the S.H.Figuarts and S.H.MonsterArts series. The final product's performance can be highly anticipated.
