BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from its popular assembly model Shokugan series "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT," the "Gao Hunter Blue Moon," based on Toei's special effects series "Hyakuju Sentai Gaoranger," scheduled for release in July 2026.
Gao Hunter (Justice) was originally a Spirit King formed by the additional warrior Gao Silver summoning three Power Animals: "Gao Alligator," "Gao Hammerhead," and "Gao Wolf." In episode Quest 40, "Sky Island, Destruction," Gao Hunter bathed in the energy of the guardian "Blue Moonlight," evolving into the "Gao Hunter Blue Moon," an enhanced form with tenfold power. It can wield a greatsword to perform the enhanced move "Crescent Slash" and the enhanced finishing move "Moonlit Roar: Blue Moon Heart."
The "SMP Gao Hunter Blue Moon" is a modified version of the previously released standard edition. It similarly presents the three Power Animals—Gao Alligator, Gao Hammerhead, and Gao Wolf—as partially pre-painted assembly model kits. However, the Gao Alligator, which forms most of the torso, has been changed from its original green to blue. After the three machines transform and combine via precise mechanisms, the unique colors of "Gao Hunter Blue Moon" can be faithfully reproduced.
After combination, the color of the twin eyes on the head has also changed from the original yellow to green. The tail parts of Gao Alligator and Gao Hammerhead can combine to form the exclusive weapon "Alligator Greatsword," allowing for the recreation of the "Crescent Slash" pose. The Gao Alligator head on the chest can also open, just like in the original series, to recreate the pose for the enhanced finishing move "Moonlit Roar: Blue Moon Heart."
