Kotobukiya, a Japanese model manufacturer, has announced the latest product in its popular mecha girl-themed plastic model kit series, "Megami Device," the "Kousu Tsukuyomi Fabulous" from the Kousu frame line, scheduled for release in July 2026.
The "Kousu Tsukuyomi Fabulous" released this time is an alternate color specification modified from the original Tsukuyomi. Unlike the original's image, which heavily used black and purple tones, giving it a somewhat evil and gloomy feel, the Fabulous version uses brighter dark brown and gold accents instead, conveying a luxurious, benevolent, and gentle impression. The overall performance and armaments are identical to the original version. The massive main weapon, "Yasakani Scythe," can generate high-frequency waves for powerful cutting force. Furthermore, the scythe can be used as a frame with exterior parts to form a humanoid support machine, "Kugutsu." The Kugutsu can be controlled to use weapons in battle via the book-shaped device "Manyo Tablet," which contains vast amounts of data, and can even hack into and control incapacitated enemy or allied units.
"Megami Device Kousu Tsukuyomi Fabulous" is modified from the original Tsukuyomi kit, using new molding colors to recreate a luxurious, benevolent, and gentle image. The skin molding color has also been changed to [顏色A], which is more suitable for warm tones. The chest parts feature the largest size in the series' history, allowing for dynamic posing of the Kousu series' most voluptuous body thanks to its flexible joint design. Three pre-painted face parts feature new designs different from the original, including three smiling expressions with a mole on the left corner of the mouth, giving a more mature appearance.
By attaching various exterior and weapon parts, the Tsukuyomi's armed mode, "Tsukuyomi Sovereignty," can be assembled. It integrates distinct necromancer elements into its Japanese-style attire. The back connects to "Magatama," one of the Three Sacred Treasures, via a stand. The face can be fitted with a skull-shaped mask. The massive "Yasakani Scythe" features intricate skull and blade designs. It also recreates the transformation and combination mechanism to form "Kugutsu." In Kugutsu form, the limbs also have simple movable joints for posing.
