The "HG (High Grade)" robot model kit series, released by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., announced the latest product from the classic anime "Combat Mecha Xabungle," the "HG 1/144 DURUN TYPE," scheduled for release in May 2026.
The "DURUN TYPE" being commercialized this time is a flying-type Walker Machine developed by the enemy faction Innocent at the end of the series. The kit utilizes completely new parts and the latest color separation and part division technology to faithfully reproduce the machine's design, shape, and various colors, while also boasting modern standards of precise sculpting and articulation. The top cockpit section not only features details such as seats, control sticks, and a pilot figure, but the canopy parts are also made from thin, transparent, see-through material.
The two massive propeller blades at the rear of the fuselage feature a rotating mechanism. The turret and barrels of the "20mm Twin Machine Gun" at the front of the fuselage also have a rotating mechanism. While its body and limbs, resembling construction machinery, might appear simple, they actually conceal a wealth of articulation mechanisms, including sliding articulation mechanisms in the elbows and waist, and multi-axis articulation mechanisms in the wrists and legs. This allows for dynamic poses such as flying kicks, more agile than one might expect. Furthermore, the deployment mechanism for the "5-tube Rocket Launcher" hidden within the right palm is also reproduced.
In addition, the accessories include three small, approximately 3-meter-class Walker Machines of the same scale: "LEGG TYPE," "DUGGER TYPE," and "BURUN TYPE." Each is composed of single-molded color parts in dark blue, earthy yellow, and red, respectively. They feature precise detail sculpting and can be displayed alongside the DURUN TYPE.
