To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the anime "Grendizer," TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has announced the rerelease of the popular die-cast toy series 'Chogokin Damashii' and its classic product from 24 years ago, the 'GX-04S Grendizer Space King Set,' scheduled for September 2026.
First aired in 1975, "Grendizer" is the third installment in the "Mazinger Series," a joint project by Japanese manga artist Go Nagai and Toei Animation. The story recounts how the distant planet "Fleed" was invaded and destroyed by the Vegan Empire. The prince, along with the planet's guardian god "Grendizer," fled to Earth, where he was rescued by Genzo Umon, director of the Space Science Laboratory, who adopted him and named him Daisuke. Two years later, Koji Kabuto, who once piloted Mazinger Z to defeat the Mycenae Empire, returned from studying in America. Simultaneously, the Vegan Empire began to extend its reach to Earth. Daisuke resolved to overcome his past shadows, piloting the giant robot "Grendizer," and together with Koji Kabuto, Hikaru Makiba, Maria, and others, fought against the invading Vegan Empire forces.
The "GX-04S Grendizer Space King Set" includes the "Grendizer" main body, the Spazer, Double Spazer, Marine Spazer, Drill Spazer, the saucer machine "TFO," and Grendizer's armaments such as the Screw Crusher Punch and Double Harken. Each Spazer machine can precisely recreate its combination with Grendizer through intricate mechanisms. The set also comes with a large dedicated display stand that can simultaneously store the armaments and showcase all the machines, demonstrating its impressive presence!
