The popular die-cast action figure series "METAL BUILD," released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has announced its latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED," the "Sword Striker Pack STORE LIMITED EDITION," scheduled for release on March 27, 2026. This product will be exclusively sold at TAMASHII NATIONS' physical flagship stores, "TAMASHII NATIONS STORE" and "TAMASHII SPOT."
The AQM/E-X02 Sword Striker Pack is equipment developed specifically for close-quarters combat, allowing the Strike Gundam to transform into the Sword Strike Gundam. Its main armament is the 15.78m "Schwert Gewehr" anti-ship sword, which is comparable in length to the MS itself and composed of both a physical blade and a beam blade. The left shoulder is equipped with the "Midas Messer" beam boomerang, capable of surprise attacks with its unique flight trajectory, and the "Panzer Eisen" rocket anchor can be fired from the left arm, using the claw at the anchor's tip to capture and destroy enemy mobile suits.
The "METAL BUILD Sword Striker Pack STORE LIMITED EDITION" released this time has identical product contents to the first edition released in December 2020, with only the packaging design changed.
The overall design has been reinterpreted by the team of Yoichi Sakamoto, koma, Hiroyuki Hirose, and Masahiro Ishikawa, creating high-density details in the METAL BUILD series style. It faithfully reproduces the deployment mechanism of the "Schwert Gewehr" blade. The backpack battery and beam boomerang can be detached and used with beam effect parts. The rocket anchor on the left arm can be connected with a metal wire to recreate its deployed state. The backpack can also simultaneously carry two 15.78m "Schwert Gewehr" anti-ship swords, allowing for a mobile suit silhouette different from the original design.
Inheriting the theme of the "METAL BUILD ALTERNATIVE STRIKE" project, the Sword Striker Pack can also be equipped by the "Gundam Astray" series mobile suits using dedicated connection parts, allowing for even more diverse variations. Furthermore, the accessories include a dedicated display stand, which can be combined with the separately sold METAL BUILD "Aile Strike Gundam" and "Launcher Striker Pack" stands to simultaneously display three iconic Striker Packs of the Strike Gundam.
