"The Witcher 4" Development Accelerates: "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33" Cinematic Animator Joins CDPR Team

CD Projekt Red's highly anticipated "The Witcher 4" continues its steady development, with the overall production scale gradually expanding, even as the studio has ruled out a 2026 release. Recently, VGC reported that Lucie Hennet, a cinematic animator who previously worked on "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33," has officially joined CDPR's Polish team as a real-time cinematic animator, bringing fresh talent to the upcoming RPG.

Hennet worked at Sandfall Interactive from May 2023 until late 2024, contributing to the development of "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33," slated for a 2025 launch. That title garnered attention for its distinctive stylized presentation and intricate cutscenes. Her move to "The Witcher 4" has fueled speculation about the narrative and cinematic quality of the new installment. Fans are eagerly awaiting more gameplay footage and a definitive release timeline.

Currently, CDPR's Polish headquarters is focused on the core development of "The Witcher 4," while its North American team is handling a multiplayer spin-off for "The Witcher" series and the sequel to "Cyberpunk 2077." Concurrently, reports indicate that Fool's Theory has temporarily paused development on "The Witcher 1" remake to support the new main installment, though the remake project itself has not been canceled.

Furthermore, market rumors suggest that "The Witcher 3" might receive new DLC this year, developed by an associated studio. With frequent updates surrounding the franchise, players may soon have another opportunity to embark on adventures across the Continent.
