The robot-themed action figure series 'ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E.', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has officially announced that its latest product, 'Messala', from the anime 'Mobile Suit Z Gundam', is scheduled for release in August 2026.
The PMX-000 Messala is a transformable MA developed onboard the Jupiter transport ship 'Jupitris' by its captain, Paptimus Scirocco, for the Earth Federation Forces. Equipped with high-output thrusters for operation in Jupiter's high-gravity environment, it boasts unparalleled maneuverability compared to standard mobile suits. The unit also features a high-strength 'movable frame' structure, allowing it to transform from MA to MS form in just 0.5 seconds. This machine is also the first in the 'Mobile Suit Gundam' anime series history to feature a transformation scene.
The 'ROBOT魂 Messala ver. A.N.I.M.E.' is crafted based on the refined and cool design from the anime's setting materials, boasting a larger size of 23 cm tall compared to other units in the series. The colors of various parts such as armor, power pipes, and thruster nozzles are meticulously reproduced through molded part colors or paint, featuring precise detail sculpting. The head camera includes a movable mechanism, allowing its angle to be adjusted according to scene requirements.
Thanks to the retractable mechanism built into the chest, it can transform from a head-to-body ratio that matches the setting materials to an animated body type that moves as flexibly as a human. Furthermore, the entire body features extensive articulation, including pull-out shoulder joints, multi-axis waist joints, and movable mechanisms for the massive thrusters on its back. The claws stored in both arms are also individually articulated, allowing for natural high-kneeling poses and dynamic combat stances from the show.
Regarding weaponry, the two 'Beam Sabers' stored in the arms can have their hilts removed and equipped with beam effects. Dedicated hands for holding the sabers, reproducing the anime's animation, are also included. The '9-tube Missile Pods' hidden in both shoulders can be deployed, precisely replicating 9 red warhead parts. The 'Mega Particle Cannon' mounted at the front of the large thruster can be rotated forward and equipped with firing effects. Additionally, the model features a precise perfect transformation mechanism, allowing it to transform from MS form to MA form without needing to swap any parts.
