Following the "Thunderjaw", the 'MODEROID' assembly model kit series from Japan's MECHA SMILE brand has announced its second product from the open-world game 'Horizon Forbidden West', the "Slaughtersspine", slated for release in July 2026.

The Slaughtersspine is a large, Spinosaurus-like machine that is formidable and deadly in the game, ranking among the most powerful combat machines. When it detects enemies, it activates its plasma chargers. Once fully charged, it unleashes devastating attacks using its "Plasma Earthbreaker", "Plasma Spike Launchers", and "Spike Tail Laser Lance". Its highly mobile body also engages in close-range attacks such as charging and tail whips.

The "MODEROID Slaughtersspine" kit consists of multi-colored molded parts and water-slide decals for color correction. Once assembled, it boasts an impressive length of 39 cm, precisely recreating the high-density details of its metallic armor and mechanical structure. Weapons such as the "Plasma Spike Launchers" and "Spike Tail Laser Lance" are faithfully reproduced. The "Plasma Chargers" on its thighs can be freely chosen between stowed or deployed states using two different parts.

The hip joint design, responsible for supporting the entire model, is the same as the previous "Thunderjaw", featuring pre-assembled ratchet joints reinforced with metal screws for enhanced strength. Other joints throughout the model are also articulated, allowing for the recreation of neck and tail movements through pull-out joint designs. Furthermore, by removing various parts of the machine, its damaged state can be reproduced.
