The premiere for "Scream 7" was held this Wednesday in Los Angeles, with the film now rolling out in theaters across multiple countries. However, the Los Angeles event was met with a minor disruption as a group of protestors gathered, demonstrating against distributor Paramount Global and producer Spyglass Media Group. Their protest stemmed from the studios' decision to fire Melissa Barrera, the star of the previous two installments, over her social media posts supporting Palestine, which the companies deemed antisemitic misinformation.

Many protestors held signs and chanted through megaphones, urging a boycott of Paramount Global's streaming service, Paramount+. The demonstration was undeniably noticeable to the cast and crew present. Reporters on the red carpet seized the opportunity to ask screenwriter and director Kevin Williamson for his thoughts on the matter. He responded simply, stating, "We live in a world where a lot of terrible things are happening, and a lot of people want to be heard. They want their voices heard about these terrible things. I totally understand that. I don't know if unsubscribing from Paramount+ is the answer, but I think people should listen to their hearts and do what they feel is right."
