The screenplay will be co-written by Rohrwacher and Ottessa Moshfegh, known for writing "Causeway." While specific plot details remain under wraps, it has been revealed that the film will be a loose adaptation, not strictly adhering to the original novel.
The starring cast has also been finalized, featuring Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley, Dakota Johnson, and Josh O'Connor, who previously collaborated with Rohrwacher on "La chimera." Johnson will also serve as a producer through her production company, TeaTime Pictures.
