Bandai Co., Ltd. of Japan has announced the latest product in its "Godzilla Action Figure" series, based on the movie "Shin Godzilla," the "Godzilla (2016)", which is scheduled for release on March 28, 2026.
Appearing in the movie "Shin Godzilla," Godzilla was jointly designed by director Hideaki Anno, designer Mahiro Maeda, and sculptor Takayuki Takeya, among others. It is a colossal "perfect organism" capable of freely and rapidly evolving and devolving, quickly adapting to its environment, undergoing several evolutions within hours of landing in Japan. Godzilla possesses a "thermonuclear energy conversion bio-organ" within its body, appearing to generate immense energy and release radioactive substances without needing to feed. In the film, after being attacked by US military bombers, it entered an awakened state, and the heat ray it spewed from its mouth instantly turned Tokyo's bustling streets into a sea of flames, completely beyond the current scope of human knowledge.
The "Godzilla Action Figure Godzilla (2016)" is crafted with an articulated specification, standing approximately 14 cm tall. Parts such as the glowing red dorsal fins and the alien-like tip of the tail are rendered with clear parts and detailed paintwork. The entire body, including the head, limbs, and tail, features a total of 14 points of articulation, allowing for posing the limbs to change standing and walking postures, swinging its massive tail, and recreating the state of its maw wide open, ready to roar or unleash its heat ray.
