I absolutely adore Kamen Rider The First and The Next! But when S.H.Figuarts released them, the sculpts were completely unsatisfactory! So, out of love, I simply couldn't accept them and didn't purchase them... After waiting ten years, I can finally make my move now.
MASKED RIDER stands approximately 145mm tall. The compound eyes, or "C-Eyes," on the mask are made with clear parts. The slender body proportions and the intricate wrinkles across the entire body are meticulously reproduced, aiming for the realistic texture of the special reinforced suit. The scars on the head mask, sustained during battles with the secret organization "Shocker," are thoroughly recreated using digital printing technology. The mask, chest "Converter Lung," gloves, boots, and other parts are faithfully reproduced using different shades of green. The shoulder joints feature a new movable structure, allowing for natural posing of MASKED RIDER No. 2's signature moves. The collar, abdomen, and waist belt area utilize soft parts. Designed with motorcycle riding in mind, the abdomen can be tucked under the belt, ensuring a wide range of motion. Furthermore, it can recreate impressive battle scenes and a rich variety of actions from the show. The scarf is made of fabric with an embedded wire. It can meticulously reproduce intense action scenes and various scenarios, such as riding against the wind. The scarf is made of fabric with an embedded wire and reproduces a dark red color. Whether it's the moment of fierce battle or fluttering in the wind, it can recreate a wide variety of scenes with rich expressions.
Additionally, it includes an interchangeable head part to recreate the state of having removed the mask. Mr. Hassei Takano, who played "Hayato Ichimonji" in "Kamen Rider THE NEXT," underwent a face scan, and the sculpt was reproduced starting from his facial bone structure. Based on data from that time, Hayato Ichimonji from the theatrical release (2007) was created.
The overall sculpt and appearance are closer to the real person and more aesthetically pleasing! Although its green is the factory plastic color, the plastic feel is not too strong. The head perfectly recreates the suit design, the emblem tampo print is excellent, the belt painting is precise, and the sculpts of the mask and various body parts thoroughly reproduce the appearance of the suit, making it impeccable in terms of aesthetics! The accessories only include 3 types of interchangeable left and right wrists, an interchangeable head, and a spare antenna set, so there isn't much playability. The articulation of Shinkocchou Seihou is generally not bad. The tightness is moderate, so you don't have to worry about posing any scene from the show. QC, coloring, and paintwork are decent... Of course, its biggest selling point is its perfect appearance. The Shinkocchou Seihou is indeed impeccable in terms of appearance!
I absolutely love those thick chest muscles! Although it will be a mold reuse by Bandai, I'm definitely getting it anyway... Next up will probably be a Tamashii Web Exclusive or Event Exclusive Rider The First...
