The "MS MECHANICAL BUST" series of Gashapon capsule toys, themed after "Mobile Suit Gundam" and released by Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd.'s Gashapon brand, has announced its latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam UC," the "MS Mechanical Bust DX Unicorn Gundam Unit 02 Banshee," slated for release in late August 2026. Pre-orders for this item are now open on Bandai's official online channel, GASHAPON ONLINE.
The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Unit 02 Banshee is a sibling unit to the Unicorn Gundam, developed under gravity. Its prototype is inspired by the "lion," another beast accompanying the lady in the painting "The Lady and the Unicorn." This unit was adjusted based on feedback from Unit 01's spatial maneuverability, resulting in superior atmospheric maneuverability compared to Unit 01, though its overall performance does not differ significantly.
The "MS Mechanical Bust DX Unicorn Gundam Unit 02 Banshee" is a modified version based on previously released Unicorn Gundam series units. It utilizes new parts to faithfully recreate the distinct head antenna, face mask, chest armor, and other sections, all finished with a luxurious gold coating. The transparent "psycho-frame" parts used for the internal frame have also been changed to a clear orange molded color.
This set features three types of items with essentially the same distribution rate: "Unicorn Mode Outer Armor," "Destroy Mode Outer Armor," and "Internal Frame (including light-up units ×2)." The armor for both modes can be combined with the internal frame to form a bust model approximately 12.5 cm tall. Furthermore, LED light-up units can be installed within the internal frame parts in the head and chest, allowing the bust to display a cool pose with the head camera and chest psycho-frame glowing!
