Japan's model manufacturer KOTOBUKIYA, in collaboration with illustrator Morikura En, has announced the latest product in their everyday-life bishojo plastic model kit series "Sousai Shojo Teien": "YOMI [Swimsuit]", slated for release in August 2026.
The character introduced this time, YOMI, is an "if" setting of the officially released "Takanashi Koyomi". In this alternate world, Takanashi Koyomi is no longer a literary girl with social anxiety, but rather YOMI, the lyricist and bassist of the popular all-girl rock band "BLACK CANVAS". Her personality is completely opposite to Takanashi Koyomi's; she not only fears being alone but also frequently makes explosive statements and loves to express her opinions on social media, often leading to heated battles between fans and anti-fans before performances.
"Sousai Shojo Teien YOMI [Swimsuit]" is based on the previously released Takanashi Koyomi [Swimsuit] kit, modified with black hair, a dark red swimsuit, and pale "Skin Color C" molding for the body. It includes three pre-painted face parts ("smiling face," "scornful face," "defiant face"), three interchangeable hair parts ("bob cut," "braid," "half-up"), and seven different styles of sunglasses. The sandal straps are pre-painted, allowing for a high degree of accuracy to the character's design straight out of the box.
The body features flexible articulation, allowing for a wide range of poses with its 12 types of PVC hand parts and three types of bare feet parts. It also includes lower body parts for sitting, fixed leg parts, and a beach chair, enabling you to create rich and dynamic scenes!
