Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO recently unveiled a new product based on the film "Godzilla vs. Hedorah" (ゴジラ対ヘドラ) — the "Godzilla & Hedorah Limited Edition" soft vinyl set. With a suggested retail price of US$250 and limited to 500 units, it is now available for order on the MONDO SHOP official website!
Hedorah, who appeared in the 1971 film "Godzilla vs. Hedorah," was originally a mineral from space that transformed into a pollution monster after absorbing excessive harmful waste discharged by factories. Although depicted as a dark, foul-smelling waste monster in the film, various colorful Hedorah soft vinyl figures were released after the movie's premiere to cater to overseas toy sales and product cost-profit considerations. We believe toy collectors who love soft vinyl figures are no strangers to the diverse and vibrant Hedorah variations!
This soft vinyl set combines modern aesthetics with the retro charm of 70s monster films, utilizing previously released alternate color versions as a base. It uniquely sculpts and restores Godzilla and Hedorah's appearances from the film! Godzilla's sculpt captures the scene at the end of the story where Godzilla extracts two white eyeballs (also interpreted as life cores) from Hedorah's body. Hedorah, meanwhile, perfectly recreates its powerful standing pose from its growth stage! The coloring references the original hues from the film, and the set includes a building diorama with chimney effects, Hedorah's exploding eye accessories, and Godzilla's closed-eye accessories, allowing collectors to recreate the iconic battle scenes at home!
