The "Ocean's Eleven" prequel film, which has been in development for four years since its announcement in 2022, has seen frequent personnel changes, affecting both its cast and directors.

Initially, Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie were set to star, but Gosling was later replaced by Bradley Cooper, who remained alongside Robbie. Jay Roach, director of the "Austin Powers" trilogy, was originally slated to direct, only to be replaced by "Twisters" filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung. However, Chung recently exited the project due to creative differences.

The latest development sees Cooper stepping into the director's chair himself, having officially signed on for the role. This marks his fourth project as both director and star. Compared to Cooper's previous three directorial efforts—the dramas "A Star Is Born," "Maestro," and "Is This Thing On?"—the "Ocean's Eleven" prequel is undoubtedly his most commercially oriented film to date and his first IP-driven directorial project.
