BANDAI HOBBY, the assembly model brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, is set to officially release its latest product from the '30 MINUTES PREFERENCE' series, "Madoka Kaname (School Uniform Ver.)", based on the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica, on March 21, 2026. Ahead of its release, the official channels have unveiled the product box art, full product contents, and other latest information.
The protagonist, Madoka Kaname, is a petite, somewhat self-conscious girl with an extremely kind and resilient heart, who became a Magical Girl with the wish to help others. After befriending transfer student Homura Akemi, she became Homura's Magical Girl senior and close friend, only to die in battle during the arrival of Walpurgisnacht. Even though Homura continuously manipulated time to return to the past, attempting to prevent Madoka from becoming a Magical Girl, she merely cycled through the same outcome, even causing Madoka's "potential" as a Magical Girl to grow stronger day by day. Ultimately, Madoka, having learned everything, chose to sacrifice herself, using this power to transform into the "Law of Cycles" that eliminates all Witches, allowing Magical Girls who were about to become Witches to be freed.
The "30MP Madoka Kaname (School Uniform Ver.)" utilizes BANDAI's advanced color separation and part division technology to largely reproduce the sculpt and colors of her hair and clothing. Not only are the red bow on her top, and the red lines on her cuffs and hem, rendered with separate parts, but even the white plaid pattern on her skirt is recreated through a combination of parts, attempting to reproduce it using the molded color of the parts. The entire body also features a precise articulation division design, allowing for the recreation of Madoka's cute everyday poses using multiple movable joints in the neck, chest, and limbs.
Expressions include two pre-printed parts: a "smiling face" and a "timid face," as well as one set of unprinted parts. Water-slide decals printed with various expressions are included, allowing users to create angry, surprised, and other expressions. Accessories also include 3 pairs of interchangeable hands, a school bag, a Grief Seed from the Mermaid Witch, a Grief Seed from the Relief Witch, Madoka's Soul Gem, and a same-scale Incubator "Kyubey," enabling the recreation of Madoka holding Kyubey to her chest.
