Issued by BANDAI HOBBY, the plastic model brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the 'RG (Real Grade)' Gunpla series, which incorporates exterior armor, internal frames, interlocking armor, and new technologies into the 1/144 scale, has announced the rerelease of its latest product from 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED', the 'RG 1/144 Justice Gundam Deactive Mode', scheduled for June 2026. This product will only be sold exclusively on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam is a next-generation Mobile Suit developed by the Z.A.F.T. military, integrating its own technology with data from the GAT-X series MS. Its pilot is Athrun Zala. Like its brother unit, the Freedom Gundam, the Justice Gundam is equipped with a 'Neutron Jammer Canceller', successfully operating a nuclear engine to obtain nearly infinite energy, allowing for stable output even when using PS armor and high-energy beam weapons simultaneously. The Justice Gundam's most distinctive feature is the 'Fatum-00' drone mounted on its back, which possesses powerful firepower and can perform diverse combination and separation tactics.
The 'RG 1/144 Justice Gundam Deactive Mode' is a modification of the previously released regular version kit. It utilizes various shades of gray molded parts to represent the low-saturation state of the 'VPS Armor' when deactivated in the series. It also includes 'Realistic Decals' printed with original unit markings and other patterns, allowing for the creation of glowing parts like the twin-eye cameras and sensors, metallic color accents for joints or internal frames, and enhancing the detail density of the entire armor with markings.
Each armor part features the series' consistent precise part separation, with rich detailed sculpting at the 1/144 scale. The entire internal frame is constructed using integrated 'Advanced MS Joint' frame parts, combined with multiple armor interlocking mechanisms and multi-axis movable mechanisms for the back wings, allowing for dynamic combat poses. However, older RG products released before 2016 that utilized a full 'Advanced MS Joint' frame often had issues with low joint durability and parts easily detaching.
Armaments include handheld weapons such as a beam saber, beam rifle, beam boomerang, and anti-beam shield. The 'Fatum-00' drone mounted on the back also features equally precise detailed sculpting, with movable barrels for its machine cannons and beam cannons, as well as a peg design that connects to the Justice Gundam's feet, allowing for the recreation of the high-mobility form where the Justice Gundam rides on top.
