Toy manufacturer Sen-Ti-Nel Japan has officially announced its brand new die-cast model 'METAL COMPACT' series. The first product in the series is the protagonist mecha 'Lagann' from the anime 'Gurren Lagann', scheduled for release in September 2026.
The brand new 'METAL COMPACT' series is a line of die-cast finished models that emphasize the weighty feel of metal parts and a collector-friendly size. It condenses Sen-Ti-Nel's accumulated manufacturing technology into a small size of less than 10 cm tall. Over fifty percent of the parts are made of die-cast material, faithfully recreating the cool styling, articulation mechanisms, and weaponry of robot characters. Due to its smaller size, the price is also more affordable compared to Sen-Ti-Nel's 'RIOBOT' and other series.
The first product features Simon, the protagonist of the incredibly popular and passionate robot anime 'Gurren Lagann', and 'Lagann', the Gunmen he unearthed one day underground. The Lagann main body is crafted at an approximate height of 7 cm, faithfully recreating its cool face, extremely short limbs, and the cockpit cover design that resembles an exposed brain, all based on the anime's settings. Up to 80% of the parts in the main torso and limbs are made of die-cast alloy, providing a substantial sense of weight.
Lagann's short limbs feature flexible articulation, allowing for dynamic running and jumping poses during combat. The forehead armor and lower jaw also have articulation mechanisms, enabling changes in expression. An integrated switch within the back thruster allows for a one-touch deployment mechanism for the head cockpit cover, into which a pre-painted Simon figure can be placed. Accessories include one thin and two thick drill parts, which can be attached to the forehead and both arms to recreate attack poses.
Furthermore, purchasing this product through designated channels such as the Sen-Ti-Nel official store, SEN-TI-NEL STORE, will include an additional bonus: the 'Plated Drill Parts Set'. This set features the original one thin and two thick drill parts with silver plating, enhancing their metallic texture.
