TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from its 'ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.' series of robot-themed action figures, the "G-Defenser" from the anime "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam," scheduled for release in September 2026.

The FXA-05D G-Defenser is a support fighter developed specifically for the "RX-178 Gundam Mk-II." The two units can combine to form the fire-support mobile suit "Super Gundam." As the Gryps Conflict intensified, numerous variable mobile suits with high firepower and mobility emerged. Combining into "Super Gundam" was necessary to bridge the performance gap in firepower, defense, and cruising range compared to next-generation units. Its armaments include a high-output long-range beam rifle and a 14-tube missile pod, allowing it to support Zeta Gundam in mid-to-long range combat, but its increased weight makes it relatively cumbersome in close-quarters combat.

The "ROBOT SPIRITS G-Defenser ver. A.N.I.M.E." is produced with an entirely new sculpt, featuring a refined design that closely matches the anime's aesthetic, consistent with the series' style. It boasts a hatch deployment mechanism for its 14-tube missile pod, a detachable escape pod that can transform into flight mode, interchangeable parts to recreate the cockpit opening and a pilot figure, and highly articulated mechanical arms, allowing the "float" sections on both sides to be widely deployed or rotated.

By combining it with the separately sold "Gundam Mk-II ver. A.N.I.M.E.," it can combine to form "Super Gundam" or the high-speed cruising form "G-Flyer," and even create original ROBOT SPIRITS forms using its articulated mechanical arms. The accessories also include jet propulsion effects for the escape pod, allowing for more immersive battle displays.
