The alloy model series "HI-METAL R," released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced a new product for the anime "Blue Comet SPT Layzner" and simultaneously revealed the silhouette of the protagonist machine "Layzner" from the series.

The robot anime "Blue Comet SPT Layzner," which aired in 1985, is set in a fictional background where the Cold War between the US and USSR extended into the era of Mars exploration. The protagonist, Albatro Null Eiji Asuka, a hybrid of Gradosian and Earthling, unwilling to witness the Gradosian Empire's invasion of Earth, pilots the second-generation SPT prototype "SPT-LZ-00X Layzner," developed by his father, to Mars to stop the attack, and rushes back to Earth to inform them of the invasion plan, joining the Earth forces to resist the Gradosian Empire's offensive.
Currently, no information about this product has been released. However, since "HI-METAL R" re-released a modified version of the 2007 "Soul SPEC" edition in 2020, it's understandable that some might worry about another rehash. The good news is that after brightening the official silhouette image, it can be confirmed that parts such as the head, chest, and shoulders are different from the "Soul SPEC" version, allowing for genuine anticipation.
