Hong Kong brand STORM COLLECTIBLES' popular 1/12 scale action figure series will feature the classic boxing manga "Hajime no Ippo" as its theme, releasing an "Ippo Makunouchi" action figure! The suggested retail price is $65.00 USD, with an estimated release in Q4 2026.
Created by Japanese manga artist George Morikawa, the boxing series "Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting!" (はじめの一歩) has been serialized for over 30 years since 1989, with over 129 volumes published. It is hailed as one of the flagship manga representing "Weekly Shonen Magazine" during the Heisei era. The story centers on Ippo Makunouchi, a boy who was always bullied, and primarily recounts his journey of learning boxing at the Kamogawa Boxing Gym, striving to become a true strong fighter through countless battles.
The "STORM COLLECTIBLES Ippo Makunouchi" 1/12 scale action figure faithfully recreates Ippo's powerful and muscular physique through its articulated body, with shadow painting emphasizing the three-dimensional effect. His iconic boxing shorts are made of fabric and feature the same pattern as seen in the manga, including "Fishing Boat Makunouchi" (釣り船 幕之內) on the rear. His determined, battle-ready facial expression is accurately reproduced, and additional interchangeable expressions for gritting teeth and shouting during battle are included, along with a comical surprised face to enhance playability! Paired with a rich selection of interchangeable hand gestures and boxing gloves, it allows for recreating battle poses from the manga!
