BANDAI HOBBY, the model kit brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, has announced the latest product in its original model kit series "30 MINUTES FANTASY," which features a fantasy world theme. This new collaboration with the anime "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers," "Suiren no Musashi," is scheduled for release in August 2026.
The anime "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers," airing in 2026, is the legitimate sequel to the 1988 anime "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers." The story takes place 35 years after the previous work, where five warriors known as "SAMURAI TROOPERS" successfully repelled the invasion of the Youja Realm into Japan. Learning from this lesson, the Japanese government at the time established the anti-Youja organization DST, responsible for strengthening defenses and nurturing the next generation of "SAMURAI TROOPERS." In the present day, the Youja Realm once again attacks the human world. The new generation of "SAMURAI TROOPERS," including Hojo Musashi, are struggling due to their lack of combat experience. However, the protagonist "Kai," who suddenly appears to help repel the Youja soldiers, hails from the Youja Realm and has close ties to the Youja Emperor, Rajin.
"30MF Suiren no Musashi" leverages the highly articulated body design developed for the 30MF series, bringing to life the transformed appearance of Hojo Musashi, one of the protagonists of the new generation "SAMURAI TROOPERS," as a model kit. Its entire body features flexible joint designs, allowing for extremely dynamic battle poses. Furthermore, by swapping parts, it can transform from the functional inner suit "Under Gear" to the armored "Yoroi Gear," and includes hands and effect parts to recreate the Yoroi Gear summoning scene.
Accessories include interchangeable face parts produced with transfer printing, allowing for two expressions: a "gritting teeth face" and a "smiling face." A blank face part for custom expressions and water-slide decals are also included. Additionally, it comes with the characteristic armaments of Soukyuu no Kaito, the "Suiren no Tanto" (short sword) and "Suiren no Shield," enabling the recreation of a combat style with one hand attacking and the other defending.
