Japanese toy company Kenelephant (ケンエレファント) recently announced the "KATHY LAM Figure Collection" gashapon series, created in collaboration with Hong Kong artist "KATHY LAM"! It is scheduled for release in gashapon form in July 2026, with a suggested retail price of 500 JPY per capsule. There are a total of four designs to collect.
KATHY LAM, born in Hong Kong, graduated from the University of Brighton with a degree in illustration. She currently operates from Hong Kong and Taiwan and is also very popular in Japan. She excels at anthropomorphizing animals, especially cats, expressing a unique sense of humor that is sometimes world-weary and tired, and sometimes leisurely and comical. In addition to depicting cats' round forms and soft fur with simple, unembellished lines, KATHY LAM is also adept at capturing the essence of a cat with just a few strokes. Once you see her cats, you can't help but keep looking.
This KENELEPHANT three-dimensional gashapon series of cats truly showcases KATHY LAM's artistic charm. From their plump, rounded bodies and extremely minimalist surfaces to their classic, seemingly vacant expressions, KATHY LAM's cats instantly bring a smile to your face. This collection includes Croissant Cat, Angry Cat, Candy Cat, and Toilet Paper Cat. The editor personally loves the Croissant Cat; its pose, looking up with a tray, is super adorable, and the croissant on the tray looks shiny and plump. The overall effect is incredibly therapeutic! A definite must-buy.
