TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has officially announced the latest product in its popular alloy action figure series, "METAL BUILD," featuring "Hatsune Miku" from the "Character Vocal Series," slated for release in October 2026.
This "Hatsune Miku" release deviates from the widely known official original design. Designers, brands, and companies active in various fields such as video games, illustration, and fashion, including MKAGAMI, Ibuki, STUDIO GS, MAYLA, and RYOSUKE TAKEUCHI, were invited to collaboratively create a brand-new, exclusive METAL BUILD version. The design incorporates the highly detailed mechanical body characteristic of the MB series, while retaining the elegant physique of a female character. The attire features a cyberpunk style with bold cuts and zipper designs.
Aside from the head and torso retaining human characteristics, the "METAL BUILD Hatsune Miku" features a mechanical body composed of intricately sculpted metallic-colored parts throughout. The upper body boldly preserves necessary gaps for movement, combining with high-strength alloy joints across the entire figure to provide human-like articulation. Notably, the hip joints utilize a patented original structure, achieving a range of motion closely mimicking human hip bones and pelvis. The silver-white boots are also made of alloy parts, and the heel parts can be expanded to create a unique shape and increase ground contact area.
The twin-tail hair on both sides of the head is rendered with thin PVC sheets, internally embedded with metal wires that can be freely adjusted and fixed to pose dynamically, complementing the main body for vibrant singing postures. The cyberpunk-style attire, designed by MAYLA, is sewn from fabric and divided into four parts: a top, a skirt, and two leg sleeves. These can be freely put on and taken off using zippers and Velcro designs. Furthermore, areas such as the shoulders, hips, and knees are almost entirely unhindered by the fabric, maintaining the range of joint articulation even when worn.
Accessories include a front hair part with a headset, four interchangeable expressions including a smiling face, two types of backpacks, three pairs of interchangeable hands, and a replaceable right palm armor. Additionally, there is a large audio device shaped like a greatsword combined with a rifle, allowing for a performance style that evokes heroic combat.
