Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou)" series, which sculpts tokusatsu heroes from the skeletal structure to achieve their original cool appearance and natural articulation, has officially announced the latest product from the tokusatsu series "GARO: The Eastern Boundary," the "Golden Knight Garo Sho," scheduled for release in January 2027.
The solitary Makai Knight, Ryuga Dougai, first appeared in the 2013 work "The One Who Shines in the Darkness" and is also the protagonist of the latest series installment in 2026, "The Eastern Boundary." From the age of seven, he trained under Furei on a deserted island and inherited the Garo armor, which had lost its golden radiance. He possesses the special ability to read the thoughts or memories of an object's owner by touching it. Ryuga endured numerous death battles with powerful foes and the painful loss of loved ones. Even after temporarily losing his sight, he never gave up fighting, which led the Makai Ring "Zaruba," which initially did not acknowledge him, to decide to assist him. Ultimately, after defeating all Horrors, he restored Garo's golden radiance. In the sequel film "GARO: GOLD STORM - Sho," the golden armor, once tainted by evil energy, was purified with the help of the Makai Priestess Ryume. It then responded to Ryuga Dougai's power and evolved into his exclusive "Garo Sho."
The "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Golden Knight Garo Sho" was produced with the full cooperation of ZOMBIE STOCK, the company responsible for creating the suits used in the show. They thoroughly analyzed the complex curves, sharp edges, and extremely intricate embossed patterns on the golden armor. Furthermore, a matte finish was applied to the collar to recreate its texture. All armor parts also feature gold plating to reproduce their dazzling luster. Details such as the orange pupils are also meticulously crafted with paintwork.
Not only is the magnificent design condensed into a 16.5 cm tall figure, but it also captures the realistic physique, robust build, and articulation of an action actor wearing the suit. With articulation designs such as upward-opening shoulder armor, pull-out joints from the upper arm to the elbow, a forward-bending abdominal mechanism, double-jointed knees, and independently movable coat tails, it is possible to pose the figure holding the Garo Sword with both hands, performing a grand leaping slash, or executing the ultimate technique "Flash Sword Dance." The included "Garo Sword" and "Scabbard" also feature precise metallic paintwork, recreating their magnificent engravings.
