GOOD SMILE COMPANY's popular chibi-style articulated figure series, 'Nendoroid', has announced the latest product from SQUARE ENIX's popular role-playing game series 'FINAL FANTASY', the 'Chocobo', slated for release in August 2026.
The Chocobo is a fictional creature that has appeared throughout the 'FINAL FANTASY' series. It is a large, ostrich-like bird with feathers of various colors depending on the species, emitting a distinctive birdy odor. Its wings are atrophied, making flight nearly impossible, but its strong legs allow it to run at high speeds. Consequently, Chocobos are often tamed as land mounts, and can be domesticated using their favorite 'Gysahl Greens'. Due to their adorable appearance and calls, Chocobos have since become a highly popular and iconic mascot of the FF series.
The 'Nendoroid Chocobo' is crafted in the chibi style seen in video games such as 'Chocobo's Dungeon' and 'Chocobo Racing', and incorporates the Nendoroid series' characteristic interchangeable face parts and articulated joint design. At a palm-sized height of approximately 10 cm, it faithfully recreates its round, big eyes and fluffy yellow feathers all over its body. Its articulated joints in the neck, wings, and legs allow for dynamic posing, and it comes with interchangeable parts such as 'surprised eyes' and 'kicking legs' to recreate various adorable actions.
Furthermore, orders placed through the Good Smile Company online store will receive an exclusive bonus 'dejected eyes', allowing for a pitiful yet adorable expression.
