GOOD SMILE COMPANY of Japan has announced the latest product from their "Nendoroid" series of Q-version (chibi) articulated figures, the "Warrior of Light", from SQUARE ENIX's popular role-playing game series "FINAL FANTASY", slated for release in September 2026.
In the setting of the original "FINAL FANTASY", when the power of the four great crystals—Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind—is blocked and darkness engulfs the world, the "Warrior of Light" will descend to save it. The four protagonists controlled by the player in the game are the "Warriors of Light" blessed by the crystals. They arrive in the Kingdom of Cornelia to resolve various incidents, defeat the fallen knight Garland who coveted the throne, rescue the kidnapped Princess Sarah, and ultimately eliminate the four monsters of "Chaos" that were eroding the world, thus saving it.
This commercialized product, the "Nendoroid Warrior of Light", is based on the Warrior of Light's image as drawn by Yoshitaka Amano for the game's cover. At an approximate height of 10 cm, it faithfully reproduces the iconic armor design and the complex color blocks composed of vibrant hues like red, blue, and yellow. The limbs, neck, and base of the cape all feature articulated designs, allowing for dynamic poses reminiscent of the cover art, with various interchangeable hand parts, a metallic-painted sword, and alternate face plates such as a "serious face" and a "sideways glance face".
Furthermore, ordering this product from the "Good Smile Company Online Shop" will include a limited bonus "Special Base", printed with the classic "FINAL FANTASY" game title logo.
