Jack Black, a self-professed hardcore gamer, has become a go-to actor for video game adaptations in Hollywood. In recent years, he has frequently taken on roles in the live-action "A Minecraft Movie," the live-action "Borderlands," and the animated "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" series. Two of these have even been box office hits, spawning sequels. However, these projects apparently aren't enough to satisfy Black's ambition to "collect" video game films.

Black, currently busy promoting "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie," recently spoke to Screen Rant during an interview, expressing his strong desire to join a live-action adaptation of the "Like a Dragon" (Ryu Ga Gotoku) video game series. "I'm putting myself out there," Black stated. "I don't know if there's a role for me, like an older, overweight American guy, but talk to me, SEGA. Give me a chance."
SEGA has, in fact, produced live-action "Like a Dragon" adaptations before. Two years ago, they collaborated with Amazon to produce the live-action series "Like a Dragon: Yakuza – Beyond the Game." However, it received extremely poor critical reception from audiences. Should there be a reboot or a continuation of the series in the future, SEGA might consider involving Black.
