King Arts - Super Machine Zambot 3 - A Super Robot with a Realistic Touch...

Story

The survivors of the planet Bial, which was destroyed by the alien Gaizok, escaped to Earth and split into three families: the Jin, the Koue, and the Kamikita. Anticipating that the Gaizok would also invade Earth, they uncovered the spaceship and robot left by their ancestors, Zambot 3, to fight back. However, the people of Earth believed they were the ones disrupting the peace. Despite facing blame from the earthlings, the three families silently continued to protect the peace on Earth...

Zambot 3

Zambot 3 is a giant robot formed by the transformation and combination of the ZamACE, piloted by Kappei; the ZamBull, piloted by Uchuta; and the ZamBase, piloted by Keiko. Its total height (to the crescent tip) is 60 meters, it weighs 700 tons, and has an output of 30 million horsepower.

Its armaments include the "Zambot Grap," which can transform into a sai/trident/sword form, and the "Zambot Buster," a shuriken equipped with missiles.

This time, I'll start by sharing some points of concern or areas where the product could be improved!

First, I hope the design team can make improvements to the box art! While the Zambot 3 figure itself is of good quality, the packaging fails to highlight the product's high standards and may not be visually appealing enough to attract customers. Additionally, the articulation has clearly been sacrificed to accommodate the transformation gimmick! As for some of the newly added details, panel lines, and textures, I personally quite like them! However, it's crucial to remember that the black lines shouldn't be too thick. For light-colored areas like yellow and white, a lighter color must be used for the panel wash—using black is a major misstep! Lastly, this isn't a flaw, but a warning: the weight of the main body is staggering, so you need to be especially careful when handling it! Consider yourselves warned!

Alright! Let's get to the main event! There have been relatively few products for Super Machine Zambot 3, with the main ones being the large and small vinyl figures from the 70s and 80s and Bandai's Soul of Chogokin + FA. Now, King Arts has released this incredibly substantial die-cast toy, which is a godsend for those of us in the younger generation (?) who love the traditional giant robot series!

The main body stands at about 33 cm tall, and the number of accessories is incredible! It includes interchangeable hands x4, ZAMBO ACE interchangeable hands x3, ZAMBO ACE moon crest, ZAMBO ACE interchangeable chest plate, tridents x2, trident connection rod, trident connector, weapon blade, Ion Cannon, Ion Cannon base, machine gun set, interchangeable chest plates x2, Vulcan cannons, Tremble Horns, Zambull connection parts x3, Zambase connection part, and weapon rack connection parts x3, and more!

The giant robot Zambot 3 can transform into the high-speed fighter Zambird, the heavy tank Zambull, and the reconnaissance craft Zambase. The robot Zambo Ace can also freely transform into the high-speed fighter Zambird! The Zambo Magnum machine gun set offers multiple ways to play, and each component can be stored in the gun belt. The overall transformation isn't overly complex; it mainly revolves around adding accessories! After transforming it into its robot mode, you need to pay attention to the clasps connecting the upper and lower torso. Once you ensure they are securely fastened, you can handle it with confidence! My only gripe is its immense weight; keep it close to the ground when handling to prevent any accidents. That's it!

I believe the reviews for this figure will be quite polarized because its appearance is very old-school, so fans who love a nostalgic feel will surely be satisfied! If you're a die-cast fanatic, its weight will absolutely meet your standards. You're truly buying a very heavy chunk of metal... but I am not one of them! Due to the transformation gimmick, the waist needs to be hollowed out to store the nosecone of the lower body vehicle, so waist articulation is zero. To increase the legs' range of motion, you must remove the parts on the sides of the lower limbs. Although the thighs feature track-style joints similar to Bandai's, the forward and backward range of the thighs and hip joints is still limited.

Overall, for its price point, you can still purchase it with confidence. If you're a fan of nostalgic robots, demand a hefty product, or are a die-hard Super Machine Zambot 3 fan, go ahead and get it without hesitation!

It's been a long time since I've written such a detailed toy report! I sincerely hope this Super Machine isn't the last product in this series!
