DC Studios' upcoming film "Supergirl" is generating significant buzz, with Entertainment Weekly recently unveiling new stills. These first-look images showcase Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El and Jason Momoa in his highly anticipated role as Lobo, immediately captivating fans.

The newly released photos also feature David Krumholtz as Zor-El and Matthias Schoenaerts portraying the antagonist, Krem of the Yellow Mountains. Additionally, Krypto the Superdog makes an appearance, signaling his pivotal role in the narrative.

The film is reportedly an adaptation of Tom King's acclaimed 2022 comic series, "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow." The story follows Ruthye, a young alien girl seeking vengeance for her family's murder, who enlists the help of the rebellious Kara. Together, they embark on an epic, universe-spanning journey to track down Krem, the killer.
In the movie, Kara joins the quest driven by her own motivations. Krem poisons Krypto during an early confrontation, and without an antidote, the super-dog faces death within three days. With the cure in the enemy's hands, this critical subplot underscores Kara's deep emotional connection to her Kryptonian past, becoming a core element of her character's development.
Director Craig Gillespie stated that the film will deeply explore Kara's upbringing on Krypton and Argo City, explaining the more rebellious and self-destructive facets of her personality. He also noted that Kara's father, a scientist and academic, helps to portray Kryptonian society as a wealthy and highly advanced civilization.
"Supergirl" is slated for release on June 26, 2026.
