The globally popular "urban legend" horror meme, "The Backrooms," which has inspired numerous games and was adapted into the Korean drama "Midnight Horror: Six Nights," is now getting its first feature film from A24 Films, with the second trailer having just been released.

The "Backrooms" film adaptation is directed by 20-year-old American YouTuber Kane Pixels, marking his feature directorial debut after previously releasing a series of "Backrooms" found-footage short films. He co-wrote the screenplay with Roberto Patino and Will Soodik, both co-writers for the HBO series "Westworld." Horror maestro James Wan and Shawn Levy, director of several episodes and executive producer for the Netflix series "Stranger Things," are teaming up to produce the project.
