"With Fans!", a figure brand collaborating between Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY and BANDAI NAMCO Arts, will release a new product themed after the movie "Ghost in the Shell" — the "Motoko Kusanagi ORIGINAL COLORED EDITION" 1/4 scale pre-painted complete figure. The suggested retail price is 168,000 JPY, with an estimated release in March 2027!
Released in 1995, "Ghost in the Shell" is an animated film produced by Production I.G. and directed by renowned animation director Mamoru Oshii, adapted from the manga of the same name first serialized in 1989 by Japanese manga artist Masamune Shirow. The story depicts a highly technologically advanced world where a new social structure has formed from the fusion of humans and machines, revolving around the protagonist Motoko Kusanagi, whose brain was accidentally transplanted into a mechanical body, and "Public Security Section 9," a special unit responsible for combating crime and terrorism.
This "Motoko Kusanagi ORIGINAL COLORED EDITION" 1/4 scale pre-painted complete figure stands approximately 27.5 cm tall and is crafted from polystone. It utilizes the exquisite prototype from the 2022 version, delicately bringing to life the striking scene from the movie poster cover where Motoko's entire body is connected to mechanical devices. The sculpture faithfully recreates the slender female mechanical prosthetic body and its intricate internal mechanical structures, perfectly showcasing Motoko's allure with a futuristic circular base! This Original Color Edition, ORIGINAL COLORED EDITION, features a new paint application referencing the manga's original color scheme. Both her hair and the base have been changed to a more layered blue tone, making the bright red wires and mechanical structure accents stand out more vividly against the overall contrast, presenting an atmosphere distinct from previous versions!
