The popular action figure series "AMAZING YAMAGUCHI", developed by Japanese model maker Kaiyodo, has announced its latest product, "THE BOSS", from the video game "Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater", scheduled for release in March 2027.
The remake "Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater" recounts the origin story of the entire series, where a CIA operative codenamed "Naked Snake" destroys a new Soviet nuclear weapon during Operation Snake Eater in 1964. The player's ultimate enemy in the story, "THE BOSS", is Naked Snake's former mentor, revered as a legendary soldier, who defects to the Soviet Union during the narrative and is ultimately killed by Naked Snake himself. However, upon Naked Snake's return, he learns that The Boss was merely a pawn sacrificed by the U.S. government to prevent war with the Soviet Union, ordered to feign defection to the Soviet Union and be killed by the American side. While recorded as a traitor in official history, she was in fact a "true patriot" who willingly sacrificed her honor, family, and life for her country.
The "AMAZING YAMAGUCHI THE BOSS Action Figure" is crafted at a height of approximately 15.5 cm, utilizing precise sculpting to recreate the vivid wrinkle details of her "Soviet-made Sneaking Suit". It features rich color applications, including metallic tones, to differentiate the textures of fabric and leather. Tactical gear such as her tactical belt and the tactical knife hanging on her chest are also meticulously reproduced, thoroughly capturing her high-resolution and more realistic appearance from the remake.
The figure's full articulation utilizes Kaiyodo's long-cultivated Revoltech joint parts, adjusted to express in-game combat stances. The eyeballs feature an adjustable gaze mechanism, and combined with the precise articulation divisions of the sneaking suit parts, it allows for natural and dynamic poses such as Close Quarters Combat (CQC), cool gun and knife wielding actions, and stealth. Accessories include a miniature nuclear warhead, missile launcher, tactical knife, two types of assault rifles, a submachine gun, a small rocket engine for propulsion, and more. These can be combined with the separately sold "Naked Snake" to recreate the poignant master-disciple showdown at the game's climax.
