The popular assembly model candy toy series "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT", released by BANDAI CANDY, the candy toy division of Bandai Co., Ltd. of Japan, has officially announced the latest product from the game "Super Robot Wars OG", "Hyperion", scheduled for release in November 2026.
The XAM-008-HI Hyperion first appeared in "Super Robot Wars Alpha 2". It is the combined form of the units "Alteurion" and "Bergelmir", whose names are derived from Altair and Vega respectively. The unit is cooperatively piloted by the heroines Ebis, Takakura Ai, and Srei. This machine is known as the culmination of the 77 series units in the "TD Project". With a total of four "Tesla Drives" after combination, it can achieve the interstellar travel capability sought by the TD Project. In combat form, it also possesses extremely high mobility, capable of deploying powerful armaments such as the "Twin GG Cannon", "Sonic Blade", and "Solar Spindle".
The "SMP Hyperion" product includes both the "Alteurion" and "Bergelmir" main bodies, as well as various weapon effect parts for before and after combination. The Alteurion main body is produced with four molded colors: white, light blue, blue, and gunmetal, and features pre-painted sections such as metallic red, metallic green, and jewel green. After assembly, it stands approximately 13 cm tall to the top of its head. Each joint features articulation mechanisms, and furthermore, its "CF" cruising form can be recreated by replacing head parts and utilizing its transformation mechanism.
Not only is the muzzle of the chest-mounted "90mm GG Cannon" precisely sculpted, but the accessories also include an impressively sized "Sonic Blade" effect part, as well as launch effects for missile attacks such as "CTM-02 Solar Spindle" and "CTM-07 Prominence". When combined, these can recreate the attack scene of the special move "Tactical Flight Operation GRaMXs". Furthermore, the unit can transform to reproduce the deployed state of the twin shoulder gravity-controlled accelerator cannons, "G Accelerator Drive Cannon".
The "Bergelmir", on the other hand, boasts an impressively large size with a total length of approximately 38.5 cm and a width of approximately 36 cm. It is composed of molded parts in colors such as red, wine red, purple, gunmetal, and yellow, and features pre-painted sections like metallic blue. The overall design is based on concept art, featuring refined and cool details, and the left and right Tesla Drives are even printed with the "TESLA DRIVE" lettering. The "110mm GG Cannons" mounted on both sides of the fuselage feature a barrel deployment mechanism and precisely sculpted muzzles.
Accessories include missile armaments such as the "CTM-05 Pleiades" with detachable shells to recreate in-game combat scenes, the "CTM-07 Prominence" (same specifications as Alteurion's), and the anti-battleship "CTM-09 Cypher". The yellow parts on both sides can also deploy upwards to reveal the muzzle of the "G Destroyer Drive Cannon".
The two units can combine without leftover parts to form the "Hyperion", standing nearly 37 cm tall, or the "Hyperion (CF Temporary Form)", a form not seen in the series but interpreted by the model. Through various weapon mechanisms and accessories, each missile pod can be deployed to recreate the launch of CTM series armaments, the "Twin GG Cannon" (both units' cannons firing simultaneously), and the "G Drive Cannon X-Combo" (both units' G Drive Cannons firing simultaneously). By deploying all gunports and equipping a total of 20 CTM series missile effects, the impressive scene of the special move "Tactical Flight Operation GRaMXs" can be reproduced.
Bandai will also simultaneously release separately sold "Cut-in Close-up Acrylic Stands" featuring Ebis, Takakura Ai, and Srei in both pilot suit and casual attire versions. These can be displayed alongside the Hyperion main body to recreate the classic in-game cut-in battle scenes!
