Japan's FUJIMI model company, under its "CHIBIMARU Godzilla" series which releases various Q-version Godzilla monster models, has launched a new product themed after the movie "Godzilla Minus One"—the "11EX-1 Godzilla (2023) Heat Ray Emission Ver." assembly model. It has a suggested retail price of 4,400 JPY and is scheduled for release on July 27, 2026!
"Godzilla Minus One," released in 2023, is a Godzilla film commemorating Godzilla's 70th anniversary. The story returns to a post-World War II Japan setting, recreating the destruction wrought by this nuclear behemoth upon the human world and depicting how people in the aftermath of war confront the colossal disaster that strikes again. The stunning visual effects, created by a mere 35-person special effects team, also led "Godzilla Minus One" to defeat Hollywood blockbusters like Marvel and Mission: Impossible at the 96th Academy Awards, winning the Best Visual Effects award!
This "CHIBIMARU Godzilla (2023) Heat Ray Emission Ver." stands approximately 10 cm tall when completed. While its characteristic features are rendered in a Q-version style, it retains a realistic texture. The chest and abdomen showcase distinct skin textures. The main body adopts a front-and-back two-piece structure, balancing ease of assembly with external detail, ensuring that even those without prior model assembly experience can complete it with confidence! The stickers are made from a material that offers excellent adhesion. For the mouth, two color options are provided: "blue" and "red." Blue represents the emission in progress, while red recreates the charging state before emission. Furthermore, this Heat Ray Emission version features newly formulated blue molded parts for the dorsal fins, upper jaw, and tongue, recreating the powerful stance during heat ray emission!
