GTA 6: Another Delay Could Make It 'Cooler,' Says 'Lester' Voice Actor; Jay Klaitz Addresses Development & $100 Price Debate: 'I Still Wouldn't Buy It'

With "Grand Theft Auto VI" still some time away from its projected November 2026 release, and having already faced two delays, speculation continues to mount regarding potential further postponements. However, Jay Klaitz, the voice actor behind "Lester Crest" in "Grand Theft Auto V", recently suggested that another delay for "GTA 6" wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, arguing it could lead to an even more exceptional final product.

In an interview with El Dorado, Jay Klaitz discussed how extended development time allows Rockstar Games to dedicate more effort to refining details. He specifically lauded series producer Rod Edge and the entire development team, describing the developers who pour their daily efforts into the game as highly reliable and professional. Klaitz stated that as long as the team has ample time to realize their vision, the quality of the work will naturally improve.

Klaitz remained notably unconcerned about public anxieties over another delay. He expressed that whether it's an extra month or several, the wait would be worthwhile if the ultimate outcome is superior. He even suggested that the more time Rockstar spends polishing, the "cooler" "GTA 6" will become, making such a delay something for players to anticipate even more.

Despite these sentiments, Take-Two, Rockstar's parent company, recently reiterated that "GTA 6"'s release schedule remains unchanged, with marketing efforts slated to officially kick off later this summer. This suggests that a third trailer, outdoor advertisements, and related promotional activities may already be prepared, further heightening player anticipation for upcoming announcements.

Beyond development progress, "GTA 6"'s potential pricing has also become a hot topic. With game development costs continually rising, some players have speculated that "GTA 6" might command a higher price point, potentially reaching $100. Addressing this, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously stated that the company aims to deliver game value that surpasses its price, emphasizing this as a core company philosophy.

However, Jay Klaitz holds a more pragmatic view regarding a $100 price tag. He admitted that his busy family life leaves him with limited opportunities to play games, making it unlikely he would pay such a high price for a single title. He noted that even with significant anticipation for "GTA 6", he would still consider the time commitment and actual play opportunities.

Klaitz also believes that Rockstar is more likely to adopt a pricing strategy similar to other AAA games, initially attracting a large player base before generating sustained revenue through online modes and long-term updates. He likened this approach to a "Lester-style strategy," where players are first drawn in, and the business model is then gradually expanded.

Additionally, a former artist who worked on "GTA 6" revealed their excitement for the third trailer's debut, while also cautioning players that trailer footage is typically highly polished, and the final game content may still differ.
