Daniel Radcliffe, who famously starred as the titular character in the "Harry Potter" film series, recently discussed his evolving perspective on his early performances. He revealed that while he disagrees with "Spider-Man" star Andrew Garfield's recent praise for his acting, he no longer feels embarrassed when rewatching his childhood work.

Speaking on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, Daniel Radcliffe shared that as a teenager, he often felt "embarrassed" by his early acting in the "Harry Potter" films. However, he noted that his view of those works has gradually shifted over time.
This discussion stemmed from Andrew Garfield's recent interview with Hits Radio, where he mentioned watching the "Harry Potter" series for the first time and praising Radcliffe's performance as "really good." In response, Radcliffe first complimented Garfield as "brilliant," then laughed, saying, "I disagree with his assessment of my performance in 'Harry Potter,' but it was very sweet of him."

Radcliffe further elaborated, "I'm more accepting of my early film performances now. When I was 18, I would feel embarrassed by the earlier works, but now I find them quite sweet. It's actually seeing myself at 18 or 19 that makes me more embarrassed; I think that feeling changes over time."
When asked to rank the series, Radcliffe stated his favorite was "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2," with his second favorite being "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." He ranked "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" last, though he emphasized that this was primarily due to his own performance at the time, rather than the film itself.
Additionally, Radcliffe touched upon the upcoming HBO "Harry Potter" series, revealing he had written a letter to the new lead, Dominic McLaughlin, offering his well wishes. He stated that seeing these young actors reminded him of his own experiences during filming and expressed his hope that they would enjoy the journey.
