Japanese company SQUARE ENIX has announced the latest product in their new soft vinyl figure series, "Polygon Soft Vinyl Figure (ポリゴンソフビ)," based on their popular video game "FINAL FANTASY VII," with "Aerith Gainsborough" scheduled for release in July 2026.
Aerith Gainsborough, one of the heroines, is a flower girl living on the streets of Midgar. Mature, gentle, and cheerful, she cultivates flowers that shouldn't grow in the abandoned church. Upon her first encounter with Cloud, she felt he resembled her first love, "Zack," from five years ago, but the amnesiac Cloud paid no mind. Aerith is also the last surviving "Ancient," able to communicate with the Planet and wield its power, and is under strict surveillance by Shinra.
The "Polygon Soft Vinyl Figure Aerith Gainsborough" is based on her appearance in the original 1997 PlayStation version of "FINAL FANTASY VII." Standing approximately 14 cm tall, it faithfully recreates the low-polygon model seen in the game at that time, using soft vinyl material to capture the angular lines throughout the body, including the distinctly angular bangs. Simple horizontal articulation joints are also included in the arms, waist, and other areas, evoking the excitement of playing this classic masterpiece for the first time.
