DC's new game, "LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight," is set to launch in May 2026. The title is generating significant buzz among players and fans, not only for its open-world Gotham City gameplay but also for featuring numerous classic suits and the debut of "Absolute Batman."

One of the game's biggest highlights is that players can control a Batman variant from DC's "Absolute Universe." This universe originated from the events of "DC All In Special" #1, where the villain Darkseid's consciousness merged with the multiverse after his defeat, reshaping reality and giving birth to this new continuity.
Unlike traditional iterations, "Absolute Batman" operates with limited resources, forcing him to confront enemies with restricted gear—a stark contrast to villains often possessing vast resources.

Beyond character origins, the game continues the series' tradition of a robust suit system. Officials have revealed that players will be able to utilize the samurai armor design from the animated film "Batman Ninja." This unique look blends Japanese Sengoku-era aesthetics with iconic bat elements and famously evolved into a full ninja suit within the film's narrative, showcasing high recognizability.

Other revealed suits include Robert Pattinson's suit from "The Batman," the classic Silver Age design, the "Batman: Zero Year" suit, and the 1995 "Batman Forever" suit. Pre-order players will also unlock the blue-and-gray "The Dark Knight Returns" armor, with "Arkham" series suits slated for future DLC.
Regarding gameplay, the game adopts a free-flow combat system reminiscent of Rocksteady's "Batman: Arkham" series and features an open-world Gotham City for players to explore. Additionally, characters like Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Catwoman will appear, offering diverse playable experiences.
"LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight" is scheduled for early access on May 19, 2026, with a full launch on May 22.
