Hollywood titan Steven Spielberg unveiled the trailer for his new sci-fi film "Disclosure Day" at CinemaCon, marking his return to the summer blockbuster arena. At the same time, he issued a warning to Hollywood, emphasizing that the film industry risks creative stagnation if it relies too heavily on sequels and adaptations.

At the event, MPA CEO Charlie Rivkin presented Spielberg with the "America 250" honorary award. Spielberg used the opportunity to urge studios to extend theatrical release windows, allowing films more time to connect with audiences, and also cautioned against the current over-reliance on existing IP.
"If we only make films based on known IP, cinema will eventually lose its momentum," Steven Spielberg stated. He stressed that only by continuously investing in original stories can new experiences be brought to audiences and the long-term vitality of the film industry be maintained.
The plot of "Disclosure Day" remains highly confidential but is known to revolve around alien visitors and a government conspiracy to conceal the truth. This subject matter is not new to Spielberg, who previously directed classic sci-fi films such as "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, and Colin Firth, with the screenplay penned by "Jurassic Park" writer David Koepp.
Spielberg stated that he has been curious about the night sky since childhood and cited a 2017 New York Times report indicating that the world is increasingly accepting the possibility of unidentified flying objects. He believes "Disclosure Day" will provide answers while also raising more questions.
