SQUARE ENIX Japan has announced the latest product from its new line of articulated action figures, "PLAY ARTS Kai TRUE," an evolution from the "PLAY ARTS Kai" series. This new item, "Tifa Lockhart," from their game "FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH," is scheduled for release in August 2026.
One of the main heroines, Tifa Lockhart, is Cloud's childhood friend. They grew up together in the small village of "Nibelheim" but later came to live in the Sector 7 slums after a certain incident. Tifa always gives the impression of being gentle, cheerful, and caring. She also joined the anti-Shinra organization "Avalanche" as an accountant and is the popular signature bartender at the "Seventh Heaven" bar, their secret base, highly admired for her cute appearance and attractive figure. However, Tifa is surprisingly fierce in combat, a physical fighter skilled in various hand-to-hand martial arts.
The "PLAY ARTS Kai TRUE Tifa Lockhart" is produced with an articulated specification, standing approximately 25 cm tall. The articulated body is an improvement based on the "PLAY ARTS Kai" series, featuring new joint parts and hip joint designs. It also removes the ratchet articulation mechanism found in previous products, allowing for a smoother and wider range of motion. Furthermore, the eyeball parts now include a new articulation mechanism, enabling changes in gaze to match body movements.
The overall sculpt is based on the 3D model from the "FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH" remake game, meticulously capturing her flowing black hair, attractive figure, defined abdominal muscles, and the functional design of her new outfit. Rich details and paintwork are used to reproduce the textures and feel of fabric, leather, metal, and other parts. Moreover, the black thigh-high stockings on her legs are sewn from elastic fabric, maintaining the articulation of her legs.
Accessories include two interchangeable face parts, three pairs of sculpted hands, hair parts for dynamic poses, and the flower given by Cloud when he reunited with Tifa, allowing collectors to recreate various cool martial arts poses from the game.
