F:NEX, the high-quality character brand under Japan's renowned prize toy manufacturer Furyu, has announced the latest product from the classic anime "Martian Successor Nadesico": the "Hoshino Ruri W Ruri Ruri ver. 1/7 Scale Figure," slated for release in November 2026.
Hoshino Ruri, a highly popular character from "Martian Successor Nadesico," was raised with "special education" from a young age. At just 11 years old, she possessed an extraordinary genius intellect and exceptional battleship operation skills, earning her the moniker "Electronic Fairy." After boarding the Nadesico as a crew member, Ruri, who rarely showed emotion, often felt distant from other members, considering the main computer "Omoikane" her closest friend. It wasn't until Akito Tenkawa and others boarded that she gradually softened due to the lively atmosphere. After the war, she even became the adopted daughter of Akito Tenkawa and Yurika Misumaru. In the theatrical film "The Prince of Darkness," where Ruri is the protagonist, the 16-year-old Ruri had become the youngest major in the United Space Force's history and the captain of the battleship "Nadesico B."
The "Hoshino Ruri W Ruri Ruri ver. 1/7 Scale Figure" is based on a brand-new illustration specifically drawn for this product by character designer Keiji Gotoh. At an overall height of approximately 21.5 cm, it renders in 3D Hoshino Ruri at both her 11-year-old and 16-year-old stages. The sculpting faithfully recreates the original illustration's composition, showing the two Ruris' bodies intertwined, fingers interlocked, and their characteristic twin-tail hairstyles dynamically fluttering in the wind. This not only offers double the cuteness but also visually represents Ruri's growth between the TV series and the theatrical film.
Furthermore, the "Nadesico Crew Uniform" and "Nadesico B Captain's Uniform" worn by Ruri in her two stages are meticulously sculpted and painted. This reproduces realistic fabric wrinkles, the gradient sheen of black stockings, and the golden fabric and embroidery details on various parts of the captain's jacket, further enhancing the overall premium feel of the figure.
