The "Sousai Shojo Teien" series of everyday-life bishojo plastic model kits, a collaboration between Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya and illustrator Morikura En, has announced its latest product, "Yakushiji Kuon [Kagari Mariya Battle-Damaged Ver.]", scheduled for release in September 2026.
Yakushiji Kuon, a third-year student at Momozakura High School, is usually a somewhat clumsy young lady, but in front of the camera, she transforms into a genius actress capable of brilliant performances. After entering the entertainment industry through extracurricular activities, she, who was originally a pampered young lady from a prestigious family, had the opportunity to portray various roles. The most iconic among them is Kagari Mariya, the heroine of the popular hero show "Infinite Encounter Megalomaria."
"Yakushiji Kuon [Kagari Mariya Battle-Damaged Ver.]" is a modified version based on the previously released standard kit. It utilizes newly sculpted parts to recreate her black sailor uniform in a damaged state after numerous battles. The molding color of the hair parts has also been adjusted, changing from the original dark brown-like black hair to a more lustrous "raven black" (Uba-iro). Furthermore, all four pre-painted face parts have been changed to new sculpts wrapped in bandages, namely "Glaring Face," "Fighting Spirit Face," "Super Glaring Face," and "Smiling Face." For weaponry, it adds a Japanese sword with a metallic red blade, previously included in "M.S.G Weapon Unit 47 Japanese Sword 2."
The design of other parts remains the same as the standard version. To recreate the agile movements of the protagonist in tokusatsu dramas, Kuon's body features a joint structure different from previous series products. Combining designs such as "pull-out shoulder joints," "front, back, left, and right twisting joints for the chest and abdomen," "movable skirt," and "double joints for elbows and knees," it can achieve greater forward and backward bending, and even, when combined with various interchangeable hand parts and the "blooming" effect for the right eye, can be posed in cool battle stances such as holding a sword with both hands, drawing a sword (iai-nuki), or a single-knee high kneeling pose.
