Warner Bros. has finally released the first trailer for its new live-action animated "Looney Tunes" film, "Coyote vs. Acme."
Directed by Dave Green ("Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows"), the film features James Gunn ("Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy) as co-writer and producer. Jeremy Slater, a writer for Marvel's Disney+ series "Moon Knight," and Samy Burch, who penned "May December," also contributed to the screenplay.

"Coyote vs. Acme" stars John Cena, Will Forte, Lana Condor, and P.J. Byrne. The story follows Wile E. Coyote as he sues the Acme Corporation, alleging that their faulty products have repeatedly thwarted his lifelong pursuit of the Road Runner. The film is set to hit North American theaters on August 28 this year.
This film was famously one of several projects Warner Bros. Discovery initially shelved three years ago as part of a tax write-off strategy. However, two years later, the studio sold the distribution rights to Ketchup Entertainment, allowing the film to finally see the light of day. The trailer's end credits humorously allude to this controversy, tongue-in-cheekily stating that the film's release is "for accounting purposes," a clear jab at the previous decision.
